By now you have prepared a great message or at least a theme/emphasis, prepared your building and grounds, and prepared the members to be welcoming to Easter guests.
Here are just a few technology enhancements that you should consider as well.
Shine in the search results
Easter and Christmas attract more guests than most any two weeks of the year. Those who do not regularly attend a church and follow the normal Easter/Christmas attendance patterns usually go online in search of just the right church to attend. What will they find in the search results? Will they find your church? If your church does show in the search results, does what they see attract or deter them from attending?
You can edit and personalize what they see in Google search results by editing your church's Google Places page. Check out my article Personalize Your Church On Google Maps to learn how to use this FREE marketing tool.
Engage Beyond Easter
This is a prime time to let your guests know how they can be involved beyond Easter Sunday. You cannot miss this opportunity.
But let's face it. Printing costs are too high for the church bulletin to contain every detail about each opportunity you have to offer. Instead, consider including shortlinks and QR Codes. This allows you to include more opportunities in the bulletin with short teasers about each. The readers then have an easy way to get more detailed information in digital format.
To learn more about QR Codes and how to create them, check out my post Using QR Codes To Enhance Ministry. You can also read it by going to this shortlink wp.me/p2DcwI-1y. (Notice how the shortlink takes up a lot less room than the normal link for this article: https://steveperky.com/using-qr-codes-to-enhance-ministry/.)
Mobilize For Follow-up
Follow-up requires additional engagement by asking guests to fill out a guest/visitor card. Once you have this information, it is important to be sure to follow-up with them. If you are a small church, this may be accomplished by giving the guest cards to one or two people who will make phone calls or visits.
However, if you have several cards it is good to have a larger team of people doing the follow-up. This requires a little more planning, coordination, and accountability to ensure no one falls through the cracks. I highly recommend a tool called “Pathway”. You can go directly to their website at www.GetPathway.com to learn more, or you can read my article about it over at Churchm.ag. (Note that I do not receive any compensation for this endorsement. I simply highly recommend it as a valuable tool.)
Prayer
You and your church have God's anointing. I pray this Easter is life-changing for every person who interacts with your church in person and/or online.
